iis security:
While surfing i often am confronted with ads that
monopolize the entire window with no way to close them
and continue my activity. What in the world can I do to
stop this. Also is there a cost free safe way to
eliminate the "message alert popups that appear
continuously on my screen in multiple layers?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

find 'adaware 6.0'
download it and install it, then run it.

I'll guarantee your system is utterly riddled with spyware and adware.

and while you're at it, update your antivirus protection too - some of
these spyware/adware thingies actually cross the line into virus-dom

Terry,

While Atrax does make a valid suggestion, I believe what you are talking
about is more along the lines of ads being brought up by a website, not by
adware on your machine.

The easiest way to deal with one of these popups is to click on the image
to make sure it is in focus and hit ALT-F4. This will kill the IE instance
that it spawned to display itself. Additionally, installing some sort of
pop-up blocked would probably help as well.
