HELP: replaced certificate and now website doesn't work?

iis security: We have in internal website using SSL with an internally issued certificate.
Our certificate expired. So I issued a new one. Now our internat website
does not work. i can create a new website and point it to the same directory
and it will work. However, I have several virtual directories created by
Exchange, Micro trend, Crystal reports, etc. I do not want to have to
recreate all of these settings. there has to be a reason it has stopped.

Can anyone help?

what do you mean by 'does not work' ?
did you replace the cert correctly ?
what do you see in the browser when you access https ?

anything in event log ?
