Need Help with FTP Home Folder Permissions Please!! LB

iis security: My IIS - FTP server is working fine. Users have home folders
under default FTP root.

BillB logs in and goes to home Folder BillB.

The problem is that he can go up a folder and see the
folders listed in the FTP root.
He can't open the folders but I don't want him to be
able to list the folders.

The few things I tried ended up blocking him access to
his home folder in the root.

Can anyone tell me how to make it so he can't list
folders in FTP Root yet still access his home folder
as he has been?

Thanks for any help!

This is a common question. The answer is in the FAQ here:

http://securityadmin.info/faq.asp#ftphome
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=245048

So, if using virtual directories to hide users' home directories from other
users, you can use the instructions in the article above to configure the
root FTP folder in the IIS MMC console to be an empty folder at the same
level as the user folders. The user folders would then be added as virtual
folders using the IIS MMC.

[IIS 6.0 with Windows 2003 Server may have another method called "FTP user
isolation mode" or something similar. You failed to mention what version of
Windows you're running, something that's very important for us to know.]

I'm running IIS 6 and Win 2003 Server.

Thanks for the info. That should be just what I needed.
