iis security : Restore Metabase

I had to rebuild my system, I've restored my metabase, and now, when I try
to access my site, it prompts me for NT authentication.

I've Changed the anonymous user account to Admin, and it goes away, reset
the user account to the IUSR account, and boom, prompts me everytime.

What am I missing here? I understand the IUSR account was recreated, and
the restore was thinking it was using the old account, but thought the
resync would take care of that.

All check boxes with anonymous access are set correctly.

Please help.

By "resync" do you mean you ran synciwam.vbs?

I'm really thinking that a recent update trashed IUSR and IWAM account
permissions. In addition to some other problems I've posted about here(and
solved now), one of my IUSR or IWAM accounts was out of sync with the
metafile. If I hadn't of watched closely I would not have seen the error
after the resync, but I was lucky and that ended me up at MKB 80110414
(Synciwam Utility Does Not Function and Generates Error), after which a
resync worked without the error. You might be having some more problems, as
I did, and so you might look at the thread I posted to here called
"ASP=Events 529 & 681". It was a merry chase, and a tiring one, what with
having things out of sync AND having IUSR and IWAM file permissions all
screwed up all over 2 HDD's!
