iis security : Homepage Hijacking

Timothy Maurer

My Homepage has been hijacked. Every time I get on the
internet my homepage reverts to an unwanted site. I've
gone through all the proper techniques using internet
options, but when I turn the computer on, there it is.
I've also used Adaware and other spyware programs to no
avail. Can someone help me?

Thanks,

I suggest that you go to http://www.pestpatrol.com/ and
run their free pest scan. If you find anything you can
use their instructions to manually remove the pest.
However, if your time is valuable, I suggest that you
purchase their product. It has saved me many hours in
removing pests from workstations here. Users were calling
me every other day, they have not called me since I
installed the program several weeks ago. It also removed
pests that other spyware programs did not.

Bummer. But you're asking for help in the wrong place, try an IE
group.

Qs: (which should have been in your original post...)

1. Your page is on IIS? What version of IIS, what OS?
2. Local web site (the computer in front of you...) or remote hosted
web?
3. Hijacked... What happens? Are your web pages on the server being
modified by someone other than you? Or are the users being sent to the
wrong IP or server?
4. I'm more thinking that someone has hijacked your web site's domain
name, and if this happened you can't fix it whre you are, but must
contact your ISP. *If* your domain name has been hijacked, you can
ruin their day at a minimum.

Yes, I have the same Homepage Hijack
problem as described below: it is called
"fastsearch.cc"

This is a diabolical little device which
resists all standard homepage reset devices
in Windows Pro XP. Please help; only the
lowest of the low would devise such a thing.

Yours Faithfully,
Frustrated in UK.

Yes, you're also asking in the wrong group, just as the post below.
You don't run IIS, so you need to post somewhere other than the IIS
security group.
