iis security : SSL for subdomain?

I have a site, say www.mysite.com with SSL cert installed. I would
like to have a subdomain, say shop.mysite.com, that can use the same
SSL cert. The subdomain physically points to a sub-directory of the
doc root of www.mysite.com. Is this possibly to be done? Is it true
that once the SSL is issued, it has to be tied to exact site like
"www.mysite.com"? Any advice will be very appreciated!

Thanks, Bernard. That is what I expected. I will figure something
out. Thanks again!

Yes. SSL cert common name is tight to URL name.

in your case, you can get another cert or get a wildcard *.mysite.com SSL.
