Sometime ago, I setup IIS and never had problem getting to http://localhost
I have now switched to Firefox as my browser, and when logging to http://localhost, it asks for username and password. Im sure this is a IIS security feature. Does anyone know the settings and where they are located

Have you allowed anonymous authentication to the web site, and ensured that
the ACLs on those files and folders allow the anonymous (guest) account
read/execute?

Probably Annonimous Access is not turned on and your IE have such feature to
automatically try to logon using windows authentication for local network
area.

I don't have the answer to your question but for what its worth I have the
same pboblem with Firefox browser and IIS requesting login. No problem when
using IE.

IE supports an "auto logon" function for sites in the Intranet security
zone. Firebird does not.

That probably explains the difference in the end user experience that you
are seeing.

Cheers
