Importing a certificate with IIS6

iis security:
I've recently exported a Verisign Global Certificate from Win2k/IIS5
using these instructions: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=232136

I then imported it on Win2k3/IIS6 following these instructions:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=232137

This in itself doesn't seem to be enough, as I get a message when
going to the website saying that the certificate either has expired or
is not valid. Does anybody have any idea what needs to be done to
rectify this?

Thanks,

The error comes up the moment I try to access the site with Internet
Explorer. The actual error is "This certificate has expired or is not
yet valid." When I click "View Certificate" and go to "Certification
Path" the second path ("www.versign.com/CPS Incorp.by.Ref LIABILITY
LTD.(c)97 VeriSign") shows the same error.

On the server that actually looks fine though. Everything looks ok under
IIS Manager/Directory Security/View Certificate/General:

Valid from 2/23/2004 to 2/23/2005
You have a private key that corresponds to this certificate.

Going to the "Certification Path" tab shows everything showing
"Certificate Ok". I also checked the server date, and it's correct.

Hi,

When do you get the error? When trying to visit the website? Can you check
date on your certificate? Is it still valid?
Can you check your system date?
Do you see any other error on certificate when you view it? Does it state
that you have private key that corresponds to the certificate?

Hi,

Can you try this...
https://www.verisign.com/support/site/iis5check.html

More details:
Update VeriSign Web Server Certificates Now for IIS: An expired VeriSign
intermediate certificate can result in non-validated connections to sites
using SSL
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;834438&Product=iis60

I hope this helps,

Mike
