Hello !

We have an intranet on Windows Server 2003/IIS 6 and only
Windows-Authentication.
In one subdirectory of the intranet there is our Company-presentation -
a Powerpoint 2000-Presentation.
In the same directory the are some avi-files, that were called from the
powerpoint-presentation.

My problem is, that normal users (they can read files in the
intranet-directory) can=B4t see the avi-files in the presentation.
The films don=B4t start, there is only a black rectangle.

Running Filemon on the server, I saw that the user wants to write into
the file C:\windows\system32\config\secevent.evt.
The user dont have this right.

Do you have any idea, how to solve this problem ?

Another problem is, that some links don=B4t work with the
powerpoint-viewer 2000, with the full Powerpoint-Version they do.

Many thanks

Hi Tom !

It=B4s a relative path, because the presentation should work on a local
PC, too.

OK - have you enabled the mime-type for avi?

I added the mime type
Field1: avi
Field2: video/x-msvideo

the problem is the same.

If I give the user admin rights on the web server it would work !

Any idea ?

Thanks

Check the NTFS permissions on the avi files and make sure that user has
access.

Hi Tom !

I gave full access rights to everybody on the directory, where the
files are stored.
