iis security : Network printing problem with IWAM

Hi.

By default, ASP.NET doesn't use the IWAM account on IIS6. So, something else
must be causing that account to be used (either you are specifying it when
you start the program -or- the program itself uses that account). If the
program itself uses the IWAM account, you need to get support from the
vendor of that application. If it happens to be a COM+ application, you can
set the identity in Component Services MMC Snapin, but otherwise, I suggest
you contact the vendor to find out why it's using that account.

Cheers
Ken

Hi Ken,

Thanks for the infos. I didn't knew that.
Actually I am talking about a classic ASP page and not an ASP.NET page
for that particular case. It must behave differently than ASP.NET.
Maybe you know also a lot about ASP and security.

Cheers,

Hi there,

If you go into Component Services MMC snapin (located in your Administrative
Tools folder), and locate IIS Out-of-process applications, you can change
the process identity there. Be aware that this will change the process
identity for all IIS out-of-process apps hosted in dllhost.exe though...

Cheers
