How to setup smarthost with ISP smtp and authentication

My ISP is Adelphia using a cable modem. They allow email software, such as outlook, to handle email by using the address mail.adelphia.net. I would like to change the "c:\inetpub\" folder to a different path (for varioius reasons) and have done that, except I cannot find where the SMTP service specifies the pathname for c:\inetpub\mailroot. having been hijacked by spammers, I have tightened the relay restrictions to only allow authenticated computers. This is a strange statement, I appreciate that IP filtering is an option, but surely we are talking about authenticating USERS rather than computers as a general rule. Can som...more >>
