iis smtp nntp : Sending form results to an external email address

I am running IIS 6, FP2003 and the SMTP server. I have configured the
system successfully to send the results of my FP2003 form to my SMTP
POP3 domain. I would like to be able to send it to an external address
but have not been able to get this to work. Any suggestions?
