I have a 2003 server which had IIS installed to its e-drive under inetpub.
The web sites show up fine in IIS Manager. I now want to add smtp role to
this server and tell it to put the mailroot folder under e:\inetpub but don't
see how I can do this. I tried doing a default install of smtp and copying
the resultant mailroot folder to e:\inetpub and changing the location in Mail
server manager but I still don't have a smtp virtual server in IIS Manager.

Hello,
If you are missing the SMTP virtual server snapin in the IIS manager, try
this:
1) Open command window and switch to C:\windows\system32\inetsrv
2) Register inetmgr.dll (regsvr32 inetmgr.dll)
3) Register smtpsnap.dll (regsvr32 smtpsnap.dll)
4) Re-open the IIS MMC

If this doesn't help uninstall File an Print sharing, reboot , and
reinstall File and Print sharing.

That did it !! Thanks a lot. Sorry for the duplicate post, I got an error
on the first one which said it didn't post. Guess I should have checked to
see if it had or not.
