Hi,
How do I install Smtp on my server to create e-mail accounts ? It's
Windows 2000 server with IIS 5.
In concrete, do I have to contact the Registar first or no (because o
the DNS).
Thank

SMTP doesn't have email accounts. It simply transfers mail between
systems. POP3 and MAPI provide mechanisms for email accounts, neither
of which is native to W2K. Third party software can be used.

You'll need a properly configured DNS, whether your registrar runs
your DNS or not would indicate whether or not you need to contact
them.

I think he may be referring to authorization and not mail boxes (I
could be wrong!<g>)

If that is the case, then Windows accounts would work fine. If you
only have users in-house, simply limit access to your in-house
(non-routable) IP addesses if you want.
