SMTP Server just stopped working

Hello,
My IIS SMTP Server was working fine and then for no apparent reason has just
stopped sending messages. In IIS the SMTP service is still up, and I get no

I am using:
Server 2003 Standard Edition
Outlook 2002 (from Office XP)
IIS 6.0
All the latest Service Packs and updates are in place.
I have a Smart Host configured which works.

just don't understand.
for "Outlook Express" user need to enter "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)" to
"smtp.domain.com" right?
how to configure my own SMTP Server to this "smtp.domain.com"?
configure my DNS? or SMTP?

I apologize if this is in the wrong place; it seems to be an IIS/SMTP issue
more so than Exchange 2000 General.
We have a multi-domain E2K/W2K (IIS 5.0) native mode setup. The domain names
are not "registerable" in internet DNS; our root domain has a domain name of

I have Postie and Blat command line applications sending mails using a
internal IIS 5 SMTP
the SMTP is configured with anon authentication, permitting relay from
internal net (some like 10.0.0.0/24) and permitting to acess smtp from
internal net (10.0.0.0/24)

Good day. I am planning on having one IIS SMTP installation that I would
like to have it smarthost all mail to another program on the same machine on
another port.
Is it possible to configure SMTP to smarthost to another port than 25?
I have not figured out in the gui nor have I found any ... more >>
