Is there any way to disable these? I have just sent an email blast on
behalf of a client, and this time I thought I would use the SMTP
server built into IIS (Win XP Pro). Unfortunately, the client got all
the error emails and they were none to pleased!! I'd rather use this
method of sending, but obviously I don't want them to get bombarded
with emails.

The NDR's are returned to the original sender (The FROM: address) and the
postmaster if you specify one. It's a function of the receiving mail server
not your SMTP server. That makes it difficult to change. Just use a
different return address. Of course that might defeat the purpose of the
mailing.

However, keep in mind that using 'a different return address' might
violate some (anti-spam) laws.

If the sender is on your system you could probably create a setup
where items which are clearly NDAs could be filtered and deleted
automatically.

In the US, it would be a federal crime! It is called CANSPAM.

If Chris is getting complains from his client, then GOOD! It means the
Anti-Spam efforts are working.

What it means is that Chris is a SPAMMER blasting mail to email addresses
that are NOT valid, period. The NDR is generated by the receiver operating
in a POST SMTP rejection manner. No NDR is generated in a DYNAMIC SMTP
rejection mode.

Don't help this SPAMMER. This is exactly what we are TRYING to stop.
