Hi,
For web development purposes, I've installed SMTP service on my
Windows 2000 Pro workstation. I configured it to the best of my
knowledge (read 'none') and then tried it by dropping an RFC822
conformant message into the Pickup folder. Here's the message itself

I have the Exchange tools installed on one Win2k server (SP4) but not
Exchange itself. I use the tools to remotely administer another machine that
does have Exchange installed. However, because the tools are installed I
can't administer SMTP on this machine. Apparently merely installing the

I am having some trouble sending email on a Win2K Server. When it is
configured to use a smarthost, it works fine. However, when I try and
send messages from the server itself the mail just sites in the queue.
Using NSLOOKUP I can find all MX records for all the domains in the emails.
