Hi all
There seem to be a problem when i attempt to add
attachment from the client machine to the mail message sent from the
web aspx server application.
I am using dot net and i expect security issues to block
attempts from aspx code to access the file system on client machine but not
sure how to
over come this.
I suspect security because the same code runs just fine when executed
by a console application.

Here's the error message i get:

"Could not access 'CDO.Message' object.
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. The network path
was not found."

Have any of you had some expirience in this sort of mission?

TIA
Rea

You need to have the user upload the file to the server. Then you add the
attachment from the server's file system

How you upload the file depends. If the clients trust the server, you could
use ActiveX control. If they don't, you will need to use a HTML form.

The problem you are having is that:
a) there may not be any file sharing protocol (eg SMB) that the server can
use to access the client's file share
-and/or-
b) the process identity of the server probably doesn't have permissions to
the client's file system

Cheers
Ken
