Hello Joe here,

I am not exactly sure why? But for some reason I cannot
get the CDO to send mail as per tutorial on ilopia.com.
(Kristofer I hope you see this).

1. I have server 2003
2. SMTP is installed
3. Have different mail server thatn MS
4. not sure how to save the code in the tutorial (as an
asp page?)

you can see the work at www.animocracy.com click on
the "link"

I have to missing something that I am not getting from the
tutorial. Seems as if it would/should work. Works on
visualwin.com

please a little guidence

Hello Kristofer, thanks for your reply

I am looking in my mail server logs and there is nothing
there.

Also I have the default SMTP of Server 2003 stopped (25)
because of port conflict of my production mail server.

So there will not be a MS version of a log. I have tried
to get this to work for about three months and had given
up. I am now back after a rest to try again.

Thanks
Joe

Hello,

Please look in the Event Log and see if you have any messages related to
this.

Thanks Kristofer,

I have seen nothing in the que.
All of my clients and mail is coming and going as normal.
I am going to try and temporarily disable the production
mail server and enable the MS and see if this logs an
error?
This may prove to be useful.

Maybe I didn't copy the code on your site correctly?
this is a very big disappointment to me to not be able to
use the CDO feature on a great OS.

This may be of some help...

I had a few asp pages made for me by an Access MVP that
email by CDO and they do work however at one time they did
not before I installed the MS SMTP. (They also have the MS
shema in the code) But when they didn't work I got VB
script errors. Also they would not use my Non MS mail
server I could only get them to send via MS SMTP no
problem. The strangest thing and I decided to reformat the
C: drive (system) and this did not help in the event (I
thought it would). I use FPSE on the same server and all
forms email just fine. Frickin wierd!
Thanks Kristofer
I hope I can find the :( "missing Link"

Since you get no error messages from the code, the mail server accepts the
request (at least that is what i think). Can you find the email waiting in a
queue or something on the email server?
