Anyone know of a utility to check the queue for SMTP under IIS (no
Exchange)?

Explorer? Assuming you didn't want to retry just a few messages or that you
didn't want to view the destinations of some of them so you could see if
they were spam or some sort of management task like that.

There was something you could get from Microsoft Consulting that gave
greater control for this. It was written to combine two DLL functions to
provide a queue viewer/manager.
I can't recall the name of the utility, but if I think of it I'll post back
off-line.

For whatever reason, Microsoft didn't think that making a queue management
utility for the SMTP product without Exchange was a good idea. Never sure
why that idea saw the light of day because if it's a MTA it should have a
way to manage it that's consistent with the OS. For that reason alone, I
often recommend a *nix derivative for a mailer in situations where a relay
is needed that won't host mailboxes. If mailboxes are needed, then it may
become a different story.

Shame too, because the MTA in Windows is very powerful and capable if you
don't intend to manage it. Or if you don't write the code to manage it I
should say. I suppose it's possible to write code to do this and just as
Exchange did. But nothing that's a) a complete solution and b) obvious.
Makes more sense to deploy a *nix solution and use the native tools that
come with IMHO.
