Hi, I've got a problem sending mails to domains hosted by some ISP's. The
mail cannot be delivered and the error message is something like this
(SMARTHOST is our ISP smtp relay , RECIPIENT is recipient (doh), DOMAIN is

i just migrate from Win 2000 to win 2003 server. i have few web application
which allows sending email to external recipient likes hotmail, and yahoo.the

I am trying to configure an exchange server to relay email, and it seems
that all I get in response is the following:
Action: failed
Status: 5.7.1

We are a developer of Anti Spam program that is installed on top of SMTP

Not using Exchange, just POP3 and SMTP.
I don't quite get what all the "queue" folder under mailroot is used for.
Some files stay in it a short amount of time (ones waiting to be sent, I
assume), some forever. The ones which never clear seem to be Delivery Status
Notifications (Failure).

my users told me they received a dozen of old e-mail (around 1 year ago) sent

Instanning NNTP gives "Overlapped I/O" error

When trying to install NNTP on a clean installation of Server 2k3, I
get an "Overlapped I/O error" which kills the setup.
This is a clean (two hours ago) installation of server 2k3, with SMTP,
POP3 and IIS installed. Nothing else has been setup.

Our ASP application has been sending emails using SMTP server for almost

WS2K3 SBS SMTP service is rejecting traffic from some IP addresses. Using
Telnet, I see connection made on port 25 and then immeditely disconnected by
host. Nothing in Event viewer, SMTP logs, and filtering is OFF.

We have an NT 4.0 domain using WINS.
Our NT 4.0 domain has a name that looks like 'ABCD' (no dot com etc).
We run MS Exchange 5.5 on an NT 4.0 box.
Our mx record points to our public IP address of our SDSL acct.
Our firewall then forwards SMTP email to our Exchnage 5.5

basically my windows 2003 server / iis6 is storing up emails created in
asp(cdonts) and not sending them until iis is restarted. this is a commerical
