iis smtp nntp: i would like to know if SMTP in IIS can be used as a secondary mail spooler.
One of my clients is moving to Cavalier who does not do secondary mail
spooling. I would like to set up an IIS server to spool the mail whilw I
move the network and IP block for the client's mail server. I host the DNS
records so I can do the changes. I do not want mail down for 24 hours. I
have set up an IIS server with the two remote domains with the new IP
addresses. I set up an A and MX record on my domain and added MX records to
the client's two domains pointing to my mail spooler server. Anything else
needed? I just want it to forward mail and hold it while the server is

Configure a secondary MX record pointing to IIS server
Configure IIS server to relay mail

Ensure enough space in HDD to queue the mails.
Ensure proper mail routing.
