iis smtp nntp : Port 25 Blocked

We have a win 2003 server with smtp set up. It sends emails to a novell
server running groupwise on port 25. It has now stopped sending emails with
the error can not connect to smtp server on port 25.
I tried to telnet to the novell server on port 25 and it would not connect.
I can telent to the novell server on port 25 from my PC OK. It looks like
port 25 may be blocked for out going.

Log onto the server and do a netstat -an and see if port 25 is listening.
Verify the service is running or the Virtual SMTP instance is running.

Thank you port 25 was listening. One of my colleagues had changed the setting
in mcafee globally and it had blocked traffic to port 25 to all but a very
restricted set of applications. I added the java app that was trying to send
the email to the allowed list and emails started to be sent again.
