iis smtp nntp : Very strange CDOSYS behavior: period at position 174 of line breaks html mail message

Hello

i have a very strange behavior found in Windows 2003 IIS SMTP service
(CDOSYS)

I'm mailing html mails with the CDOSYS object from an ASP page.

Whenever there is a period (.) at position 174 of a line in a html
message, the mail server breaks the mail and sends out a very crippeled
version of the html message.

You can try it by sending a HTML mail with CDOSYS with this string in
it:
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0cm 0cm 0pt"><SPAN lang=NL-BE>De
Europese Unie wil inreisvisa voor reizigers van buiten de unie vanaf
begin 2007 aanzienlijk duurder maken. Visa zullen vanaf dan ook
biometrische gegevens van de reiziger vermelden. Een Schengen-Visum zou
tussen 35 en 60 euro kosten.

Check out the period . at position 174, that will cause the mail to
render complete wrong.

Has anyone noticed this before and is there a workaround for this?

I already have the DisableDotStuff... set via Metabase Editor, but that
does not solve it.

Many thanks!

Can you post the version of Windows 2003 you're using including hotfixes?

That is strange. I've seen odd ones before like this:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=885419 but that's pretty obscure.
Can you verify that your line wrap isn't set to 174?

If everything else seems straight, I'd suggest filing a bug with support to
get that fixed.

Al
