iis smtp nntp : PULLING USENET FEED FROM ANOTHER SERVER

Presently I have setup an NNTP server on my Exchange Serer, It work great
for local users. I can make my groups etc. and my exchange users can post
and read articles.

I would now like to pull in external news feed from a paid account that I
have. I called and they said that would be perfectly fine, but I have an
issue. Although, I can pull all the group names, I am not pulling the
articles. I read once that I would need a 3rd party (tool) to do this, as
my USENET provider does not allow "pulling" I think that's the correct term.

Can someone here help me get a understanding as to what's happening and what
tools I can use to accomplish my task.

Thanks.

From my basic understanding there's a very big difference between a peer
newsfeed exchange and a "pull" feed. With the pull method you're probably
accessing the news server as a "newsreader" and retrieving requested posts by
message-id.

In a peer exchange a feed server is sending you posts in high volume and would
be more efficient for both ends since you don't have to manage the process of
finding what you need to pull, then requesting and getting those selections from
a news server. If you use a pull feed you'll probably have a tough time trying
to keep up.
