Hi,

I'm looking to cluster 2 servers (WS2003 Web Edition) where its sole use are
SMTP servers. Should one server go down then another should take its place.
Firstly, does anyone know if it can even be done using the web edition and
secondly, how would I go about doing it? The servers are located in a DMZ
with separate IPs at the mo and only one of them is being used at the moment.

Web Edition can't cluster. You actually want a fail-over anyway, and
the best methoid for SMTP is a commercial srver mirroring product.

Come to think of it..... the proper way to deal with this is via multiple
mail exchange records in DNS
and have them set at different preferences e.g. 10, 20, etc.

I would suggest google for general practise to deal with Mail exchange high
availabitity
