iis smtp nntp:
I am getting ready for another Hurricane season in south Louisiana and would
like to use the smtp service on windows 2k3 as a backup to my exchange
server. I have purchased a new server and have it stored in a co-lo. Can
someone explain (in detail or via a KB/white paper) how to set the smtp
server at the co-lo to receive the mail and then send it to the exchange box
once it is back up and running.

Thanks

Set that SMTP to forward all mail to your Exchange Server. Add a DNS
record for that SMTP with a higher MX number.

That won't completely ensure email will flow again since timeouts in
delivery may occur, but it's close.
