SBS2003P IIS Manager doesn't show SMTP object(s) David Christensen

iis smtp nntp:
microsoft.public.inetserver.iis.smtp_nntp

I am an SBS2003P newbie who is trying to get SMTP working. STFW, there is
supposed to be a management interface incorporated into IIS Manager:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323436/en-us

When I start IIS Manager, I see:

Internet Information Services
P42800E (local computer)
Application Pools
Web Sites
Web Service Extensions

I don't see any SMTP objects.

Looking at Add or Remove Programs --> Add/Remove Windows Components -->
Application Server --> Internet Information Services (IIS), SMTP Service is
already checked.

Any suggestions?

TIA,

David

Nope, nor do I see SMTP it if I use Server Management.

Yes. It is started (and working via Cygwin email).

Any other ideas?

TIA,

David

p.s. I was troubleshooting Cygwin /usr/bin/email yesterday and thought I
failed. I believe it left it configured for SMTP with no authentication.
Here is my current /etc/email/email.conf:

$ egrep -v '^#|^$' /etc/email/email.conf
SMTP_SERVER = '127.0.0.1'
SMTP_PORT = '25'
MY_NAME = 'David Christensen'
MY_EMAIL = 'Administrator@p42800e.holgerdanske.com'
REPLY_TO = 'dpchrist@holgerdanske.com'
SIGNATURE_FILE = '&/email.sig'
SIGNATURE_DIVIDER = '---'
ADDRESS_BOOK = '&/email.address.template'

I'm not really familiar with SBS but I assume it works the same as with the
Standard edition.

Can you see the SMTP Service if you navigate to Administrative Tools and
then open Computer Management
and navigate down to "Services and Applications > Internet Information
Services (IIS) Manager".

Also, can you see the SMTP Service at all under the services panel ? If not
it is not installed.

If you still cannot access it I would recommend you to reinstall the smtp
service.
