Hi Folks;

Try as I might I can't seem to get IIS 5's SMTP log files to reflect the
proper time. For instance, it's now October 21, 2007 at 10:28 PM

I just sent an email to myself and checked the logs. The logs show it's
October 22 2007 at 05:27:15 AM

The mail server sync's it's clock to a master time server on the internal
network - all machines do so we have accurate time.

Why are the times off on all the logs? Is there a way to fix it? Use local
time for File Naming and Rollover is enabled.

Thanks!
Dave

After some more research it appears this is normal if you choose the W3C
extended log file format.
Apparently Microsoft adheres to their specification which means that they
use GMT.

The recommended workaround is to use Microsoft IIS Log File Format which
uses the local machine's time for the log entries.

I just changed over to that but found that there are no extended properties
for that format. Hopefully it will still log the required info....

Best:
Dave
