iis smtp nntp:
hi there, we have a WIN Server 2003 that acts as a SMTP gateway. it does
have some anti spam software on there but i dont think this is causing the
issue. one of our clients cant send emails to our domain. even when they
try to telnet to us they can connect but it seems they issue the QUIT command
straight away. all i see in our SMTP logs is this

2007-02-09 11:39:11 217.23.**.*** - SMTPSVC1 LSR-GW3 10.23.***.** 0 QUIT - -
240 4360 69 4 0 SMTP - - - -

i have found another person with the same issue, his post is here

http://groups.google.co.uk/group/microsoft.public.exchange.connectivity/browse_thread/thread/acf619b4ccef9cdc/9af62320d279199c?lnk=st&q=SMTP+-+quit+after+helo&rnum=3&hl=en#9af62320d279199c

any idea, it only seems to be one client that is effected

thanks

I would try a telnet test from this persons machine directly to the server.

Also verify the network this person resides on is configured to route
through this SMTP server
