Hi
I had a php application that generates emails. using iis smtp to send them.
It has been working fine till now. The mails are generated but they get stuck
in the queue path. I have checked lots of post here didn't get it back to
work.
The only change I have done is to instal outlook 2003 to get my email,
before I was using the internet web service from my supplier. Can this be the
problem? if so, how can I solve it?
i have tried STMPdiag, the error I get is 8007054, translated into English
should be something like Cannot conect into the domain controller.
thanks in advance for your help
regards

Consult your logs; sounds strongly like a DNS error. Try this from a =

command prompt.

nslookup -q=3Dmx google.com

Post your results.

Hi Sandy,
I think I need you to be a bit more specific on the logs (I'm not an expert)
which logs and where are they?

Anyway, I run the command and I got:
Servidor: dnscachem.wanadoo.es
Address: 62.36.225.150

google.com MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = smtp1.google.com
google.com MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = smtp2.google.com
google.com MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = smtp3.google.com
google.com MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = smtp4.google.com

google.com nameserver = ns4.google.com
google.com nameserver = ns1.google.com
google.com nameserver = ns2.google.com
google.com nameserver = ns3.google.com
smtp1.google.com internet address = 72.14.203.25
smtp2.google.com internet address = 64.233.167.25
smtp3.google.com internet address = 64.233.183.25
smtp4.google.com internet address = 72.14.215.25
ns1.google.com internet address = 216.239.32.10
ns2.google.com internet address = 216.239.34.10
ns3.google.com internet address = 216.239.36.10
ns4.google.com internet address = 216.239.38.10

hope it means anything to you.
thanks for your help, looking forward te hearing from you

Hi Sandy,
I fixed it. you gave me the clue.
For whatever reason there is no a direct link now, so I defined the
"inteligent host" and it is working

If you're using a consumer ISP, it's common to be forced to use upstream
SMTP smart hosts rather than performing direct delivery.

If not, it's your own firewall that's blocking outbound TCP 25... but if
you've got a smart host to use, stick with it.
