I want to create a web browser based MIS suite to use our data held on
SQL 7. We have Dreamweaver and Crystal Reports available but I want to
know if these are suitable or if there are any recommendations for
something I can pick up quickly.

It will be simple reports based on complex queries (I can handle most
of this in SQL 7), don't need fancy graphs, just plain boring
financial reports are what I need to produce.

Obvious things I need to create are combo boxes and list boxes for
selections. My background is more Delphi/VB and SQL than web based
stuff, so please let me know any recommendations or good places to
start looking.

Thanks

Hi Ryan - We have built a product that should be ideal for your needs
lgxReportDev (http://www.logixml.com/products/ReportDev/reportDev.htm)

It is .NET and XML based and is easily learned and used by people with
a SQL background. It is also a fraction of the cost of Crystal. You
can download an eval from our site and we are also happy to give you a
WebEx demo.

Thanks

Ryan,

Please look into ezWebReports. It was built from the ground-up to
provide powerful, yet easy-to-use web-based reporting and ad-hoc query
capabilities that you can affordably deploy to users throughout your
organization. It costs just $495 per server for unlimited users, and
requires almost no training to use. ezWebReports runs on the
Microsoft ASP.NET platform. A fully-functional Evaluation version can
be downloaded from http://www.InspireonSoftware.com

Thanks,
