sql server (alternate): Is comp.databases.ms-sqlserver more active than
microsoft.public.sqlserver.server, or is it the other way around??

Which NG is better for general and 'learning SQL 2005' types of
questions??

Thank you, Tom

microsoft.public.sqlserver.server (17k message in last 7 months) is
more active than comp.databases.ms-sqlserver (11k in last 18 months),
as is microsoft.public.sqlserver.programming (8k in last 2 months) and
at least a few other of the other subject-specific microsoft groups.
If you connect directly to the Microsoft news servers at
msnews.microsoft.com you get most of the responses a bit quicker than
if you go though a different news server.

I agree with Roy that the microsoft.public.sqlserver.* hierarchy is much
more active. You will also find that more MVPs and Microsoft folks
participate there. Also, registered MSDN subscribers are guaranteed a
response within 2 business days as part of their MSDN benefits
(http://msdn.microsoft.com/newsgroups/).

Hope this helps.
