Hello,
I have a VLDB backup job which is setup to delete files older than 12
hours. It fails daily with an insufficient space on the disk error
because it is not deleting the old backup. It is not a
permissions/security issue. I can setup the same job on a smaller
database on the same server, with the same user ( Domain account that
is a local admin ) and it will delete the file for that job just fine.
I'm wondering if it is something to do with the size of the backup (
such as the fact that I am prompted when deleting it manually to
permanently delete it as it is too large for the recyle bin ).
It fails consistently with the same error.
Once I manually delete the old file, it runs fine.
In case it is relevant the backup file is stored on a SAN, but this is
also the case on the jobs I tried on the smaller databases.
Any ideas?

Oh, and yes, the file is older than 12 hours old at the time the job
runs. :)
