sql server clients : Client SQL Server character mapping

Hi

we have a problem where different clients are not seeing=20
the character for a particular text code value

ie
client 1 sees code value as =A3
client 2 sees code value as accented u

any ideas on how to resolve so that the server to client=20
character mapping is the same - changing locale setting=20
does not appear to resolve the problem

thanks

I have exactly the same problem with a 6.5 server and client and also have
not solved it yet.

In the client app the £ is shown as character 163. This gets saved to the
db as char 156 and isql on the client will then display this as a £.
However when the client app gets character 156 back and displays it, it
shows as the accented u.

Would certainly appreciate a solution
