Are you able to have a sql 6.5 client and a sql 2000
client on the same pc? If so, are you able to use them at
the same time? Meaning - Are you able to go into an
application using a sql 6.5 database at the same time you
go into an application using a sql 2000 database?

This should not be a problem. Of course, it will depend on the level of
MDAC on the client machine. The newer versions of MDAC should work with no
problem but versions of MDAC prior to MDAC 2.5 will need an lias created on
the client machine if connecting to a named instance of SQL Server 2000.
