Fairly new to the SQL scene, I am trying to access my db remotely. Any free apps that you can recommend?

I'm also fairly new to SQL. I've read this book but not clear on how to
manage the databases remotely. Could you manage your databases with SQL
Server Enterprise Manager remotely as well?
