sql server clients : Sql database search slow

We have winxp workstations with a client software that connects to a win2k3
server with sql 2k & sp3 installed to access a medical database where we
pull up the patients information. About a week ago 2 of the stations became
slower then normal when searching information from the database cause now we
see a sql hourglass cursor which lasts about 5 seconds then the information
comes up. The odd thing is that these 2 stations never had this problem
before and 1 day just happened for no reason and the other stations on the
same network pull up the information instantly like it should. Nothing was
changed on the 2 stations when it happened and i've checked everythhing but
couldn't find anything wrong. The server is fairly new and the computers are
all connected to a 100mb switch. I'm not too familier with sql so don't
really know where to look. Any help is appreciated Thanks.

Hi,

If only two workstations are showing the issue, the problem is most likely
not with the SQL Server itself. I would check for network related issues
that may be at play. A network trace at the problematic clients would give
you a good idea if the network is involved.

Thank you.

the same problem
