Hi,
I have to move an entire SQL Server system databases from current basic
drive W: to new SAN drive H: in cluster server (current is one node with two
instances). During the installation, I put Program files to C: drive and Data

I have W2KAS, SQL Server 2000 active/passive cluster with cluster
MSDTC resources.
I use NT Task to execute DTS package via DTSRUN and package requires

Hi there,
I have a two node cluster Win 2k with SP4 and SQL 2k with SP3. There are
two instances of SQL. The primary instance comes up just fine. The
secondary does not come up all of the disk, IP, and name resources load, but

We have one cluster with 2 virtual databases and name instances VDB01\DB1
and VDB02\DB2. They use different storage on a SAN. Machines are DL380s with
2 CPUs. OS: Windows 2003 Enterprise Server, SQL 2000SP3a.
Now both of them have the same database Data1, Data2 and Data3

How does one use the SQL virtual device interface (vdi) in a SQL Server
cluster? The VDI connection command only accepts a parameter for instance
name, not server\instance name.

We have two active clustered sql servers and two separate IIS Load
balanced servers. We can connect to both instances of sql server
Enterprise manager and query analyzer (also tried an odbc connection)
thru local pc's.
I can get both IIS servers to connect to the default sql server

Hi,
In MS Clustering the failover happens only at hardware level or it can also
happen at application level? I mean If I am running two nodes, node1 & node
2. both these servers hardware has no issues but SQL server on node1 has some
problem, will it be able to use SQL server on node2?

I'm not able to start the cluster service on the 2nd node of our cluster.
O/S is 2003, with SQL 2000. The 2nd node is passive, and appears to join the
cluster but then it terminates unexpectedly.
We've tried using the Administrator account to start the server, but with
the same results.
