sql server clustering : Boost SQL Server priority on Windows switch

Hi

I'm using SQL 2000 Enterprise Edition with 2 Windows 2000 Advanced Server nodes (active/ passive cluster) with shared disks

We are having some performance problems. The "Boost SQL Server priority on Windows" switch in the processor tab of the properties of the server is off. Does anyone know what happens when I turn in on? I hope to get better performance, but does not want to harm the cluster. The cluster is only used for SQL Server

Kind Regards

This is NOT recommended on a cluster. You can starve the cluster service of
resources which will look like a node failure to the other node(s) in the
cluster. Not good.

To add to Geoff's comments, this is not generally
recommended even on a standalone SQL box.
