sql server clustering : Setup failed to perform required operations on the cluster nodes.

Thannks in advance for an help on this.

I am attempting to set up SQL2K EE on Win2003 cluster
(active/passive).

I get this error msg "Setup failed to perform required
operations on the cluster nodes." during the install
process. I have looked through the newsgroups and
knowledge base for info on this error and have seen some
replies/articles however none of them seem to fix our
issue.

I have attached the sqlstp.log and sqlstp0.logs (from 1st
node). The only issues I could see in sqlstp.log are
listed below. As far as I could tell the install on the
2nd node when ok. No errors in its log.

12:00:34 C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\SqlSetup\Bin\remsetup.exe
C:\WINDOWS\remsetup.ini
12:04:15 Process Exit Code: (2) The system cannot find the
file specified.

Problems in sqlstp0.log were (maybe related to issue noted
above)

If the source media is on a remote share, make sure all nodes have access to
the share. Copy the source files to a local drive on the first node if
necessary.

Make sure you have checked the following KB articles:

PRB: Windows Server 2003 Support for SQL Server 2000
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;329329&Product=sql2k

PRB: Virtual SQL Server 2000 Installation Fails on Cluster That Has Eight
Nodes
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;811054&Product=sql2k

PRB: Installation of a Named Instance of SQL Server 2000 Virtual Server on a
Windows 2003-Based Cluster Fails
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;815431&Product=sql2k

Also, make sure you have logged in to the console of all nodes with both the
service account and the install account at least once.

You should also stop all unnecessary services on both nodes. Here is a
link to a KB article that gives more information about troubleshooting this
error:
