sql server clustering : SQL standard on cluster?

I know that standard edition doesn't support Clustering,
but my question is, can we still install SQL server
Standard edition with the processor licenses on one of
the Clustered servers and not use the clustering
capability? Will this even install correctly and if it
does, is the licensing still correct since it is just the
SQL standard edition?

Yes, it's possible. You can install a standard edition instance on one node
of cluster box and to use it like a "normal" (non cluster) SQL Server.

Yes, it is possible to install SQL Server Standard Edition on a machine
that happens to be part of a cluster. Do not install SQL program files or
data files on one of the SAN drives. If the drive fails over to the other
node, SQL won't be able to find the databases and will fail. If you
install SQL on a local drive, this should be fine.

Can you run a cluster environment with sql standard edition on one cluster server and sql standard edition on the other clustered server? Is that posible and is it allowed

You can do this, but the SQL standard edition installations will not be
clustered. They will be local to one host only. For a Clustered SQL
installation on a MSCS cluster, you need Enterprise edition. This is true
from both license and functional perspectives.
