sql server clustering:
I want to setup SQL clustering but I seem to be hosed at setting up Windows
Clustering. I want to setup a single instance ( Active/Passive ) using
Windows 2003 EE and SQL 2000

When do i power up the second node ? Is it only after you configure Node 1
and even set up the cluster service ? I seemed to have installed win2003 on
both nodes before setting up cluster service.

I can see the following messages in the log when i was adding the first node
to a cluster

The physical disk "Disk Q:" cannot be managed because it is on the same
storage bus as the boot disk.
The physical disk "Disk G:" cannot be managed because it is on the same
storage bus as the boot disk.

Currrently I have drive C on the local array and configured drive Q and
drive G on the external array thats shared. I could see these drives when i
setup the node 2 but the only thing i had to do was rename the drive letters
on node 2 as they came up as E and F..

Let me know what Im doing wrong...

Thanks

Do you have a separate HBA for the external Array, or does it use the same
HBA as the internal disks?

John
