Am I right in saying that you can't implement a failover SQL Server 2000
cluster using NAS? Ie - you have to be using direct attached storage (like
a big SCSI array) correct?

I want to upg the SQL 7 to SQL 2000.
Do I:
-Upgrade server 1 to sql 2000, then move the group to
server 2 and upg it?

alias for the virtual server instance (as per KB article Q815431).

when i went to clustering administrator i see in cluster
groups the 2 nodes are having red x mark what does it
mean as all the resources[disk] in two nodes are online
while one resource[mssq] in each node is failed in

Hello gurus!
I know that SQL 2000 and very probably Yukon SQL do not support a shared
disk cluster.
So, in the shared nothing schema is possible to (in a Active/Active):
having one SQL 2000 instance running in the Active1 Server with on Database

Error:

I've noticed with testing my SQL Server cluster failover,
that SQL Server is unavailable during the fail over.
I noticed that when the SQL Server serice is starting on
the fail over node, No one can connect until the service
is started on the backup node.

I'm on the middle of the sql2000 cluster build. Window2000
cluster went though sucessfullly. Went thought most the
steps of the sql cluster and got to the point where it
starts to install sql and it failed with the message: Can
not install sql services.
