Need advice on massive database
Posted by Jack Victor at 5/21/2004 10:06:17 AM
Hi,
We're in the process of architecting a very large SQL2K database. We
believe this database will grow 2TB per month. 99% of the inserts will be
done via bulk inserts. Approximately 3-4 per day an application that we
wrote will query and pull approximately 6 million records at a time.

reporting would be based on data from the whole database. I guess this... more >>

Our goal is to monitor the event when our Active/passive cluster fails over

We are thinking of monitoring thru SNMP with a MIB.
Question 1: Where can we find a MIB to minitor Cluster failover to the
secondary node?

I have a concern with a clustered SQL server pair which had a failed node recently replaced with a new server. I am understanding that when I replaced the node, the install of SQL from the original node copied over all binaries, including SP3 files to the new node. But, with the original node as
