I have a couple clusters (each with eight processors total, and 16 GB RAM total), but am not getting the performance desired. I "inherited" these, I didn't build them. Can anyone recommend any resources on tuning the cluster and tuning the SQL service for the best performance? ...more >>

I've just installed clustering on a pair of Intel Itanium boxes running 64 bit Server 2003 Enterprise. I've followed the setup instructions in 301600 and 817064 for MS DTC. Cluster services gives the high availability needed - that is great. But I have never seen any discussion about what happens when a node fails - what do you do to get everything back to the active-passive tandem. SQL Mail is not cluster aware on a failover, but having it is better than not, I believe. What tasks can be scheduled to check for the proper functioning of SQL Mail on a cluster . Are there any third party tools that can help in doing this?...more >>

We have just setup two servers running a copy of SQL 2000 on Windows 2000 server. Each of these servers is running vendor software that interrracts with the databases. One server is primary and one is backup. Clients only interract with the vendor process on the servers and not the SQL directly. ...more >>

I was given the 3 ip addresses. i for the cluster and 2 for for the ones the cluster is made up of. and my login is set up to use SQL Server Authentication. How do i connect to the server.
