sql server clustering: I there,

I want to upgrade a SQL active/ passive cluster from SQL SP3 to SP4. How can
I prevent end users and tools from connecting to the server during the
migration?

I cannot disconnect the LAN cable since I use domain accounts for the
cluster and the SQL server.

The nodes run Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition. The firewall service

Start the install from the controlling node for that instance. The SQL SP
installer will pause that node and your clients won't be able to connect :)

Also make sure that Task Scheduler service is running. I believe this is
what will make SP4 and SQL2005 install on a cluster.
