sql server clustering : GURU needed: Offsite setup

I have to setup a SQL cluster using a direct attach SAN configuration in a
different subnet to it's final "live" environment subnet.

I have read documentation that warns against changing IP configuration once
the cluster is setup.

Can I go ahead and change the IP address after it has been completely setup
OR do I have to set it up on site OR are there any work arounds that can be
used (please note that the subnets are connected via a router) ?

I have changed the IP on a cluster and had it work without any problems, and
I have changed the IP address on a cluster where most of the nodes had to be
evicted and rejoined.

There are several article that can be found on this.

Hope it helps

It's certainly easier to not change the IP address than to change it, but if
it must be done, it must be done. Here are two knowledge base article that
will walk you through the process.
