300MB DB uses 1.4GB RAM!?

SQL Server 2000 running nothing but a 300MB database over the course of a month of continuous use from a single application winds up grabbing 1.4GB of RAM. Is that normal or excessive? If you run SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition in compliant mode 80, can you still utilize log shipping, database mirroring, or clustering? If it is possible, are there any problems related to the setup or administration?...more >>

I am pretty sure the answer is Yes, but I need to cover my bases on this.
