300MB DB uses 1.4GB RAM!?

SQL Server 2000 running nothing but a 300MB database over the course of a
month of continuous use from a single application winds up grabbing 1.4GB of
RAM. Is that normal or excessive? (No performance degradation at all, jut a
lot of RAM allocated.)

If you run SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition in compliant mode 80, can you
still utilize log shipping, database mirroring, or clustering? If it is
possible, are there any problems related to the setup or administration?... more >>

Hi,
I'm writing a proposal for a DR solution for a SQL based application. I've
been looking at clustering, database mirroring, etc. Has anyone come across

From a "price point of view" migrating from the actual platform (2 node
cluster Windows server 2003 with SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition)to MySQL
can be very attractive.

I am pretty sure the answer is Yes, but I need to cover my bases on this.
I know the SQL is covered, but are the applications above capable of
