How many SQL 2000 nodes does Microsoft Officially Support on 2003?
Posted by John Robel at 1/13/2006 4:05:02 PM
I would like to know if I can move my active/passive SQL clusters into a more
cost effective four node cluster (3 active and 1 passive). Is there a matrix
or document somewhere on Microsoft's site that indicates what configurations
are officially supported and considered "best practices"?

I have an active/passive cluster involving 2 machines. I have 3 instances
running on the production server. One of the drives allocated to instance 2
was running out of space so I decided to move one of the larger databases to
another drive that can handle its size. The drive that I was goi... more >>
Multiple Instance use of MSDTC

I have set up a
multiple instance

Specifically,
Server 1 is the
primary host for

2 is the backup for
instance 1).
Server 2 is the
primary host for

now a client is asking for a two node SQL 2005 active/passive cluster. I'm
assuming this is still possible in 2005 but just can't seem to find any good
resources related to SQL 2005 clustering. Can anyone p... more >>

We will be setting up a Windows 2000 SQL server on a two node 2003 Cluster
connected to an HP SAN.
Reading through the whitepapers and watching the webcast on how to setup
everything says to keep the data files on a seperate disk from the quorum
drive.
This will not be a problem, however... more >>

SQLServer Agent Properties/Connection/Windows-SQL Auth
Posted by shorefisher at 1/11/2006 12:15:55 PM
Books online says clearly that on the SQLServer agent properties
(Connection tab) you should select Windows authentication if you are
running on NT or Windows 2000. It doesnt't say why. My version of Books
doesn't give a recommendation for Windows 2003.
Most of our instances don't seem to ca... more >>
